COMPLETED PROJECTS

  • Gary Pirkle Park amenities now include, more parking with bio-filtration stormwater controls, educational building at the Community Garden
  • EER - 18 acre expansion project is under construction; Reeves contracting is installing over 200 new parking spaces, an entrance road from Peachtree Industrial Blvd to the main park.  This addition will be completed in the fall of 2010 and will use bio-filtration techniques to address stormwater controls.
  • EER - Constructing two (2) lighted tournament quality Little League fields
  • EER - Constructing three (3) T-Ball fields along Level Creek Road.
  • Roads & Sidewalks: Level Creek Road sidewalk/drainage next to EER Park – 2010
  • Schools: County - Lanier High School – fall 2010, County - Roberts Elementary School – fall 2010
  • Kroger on Hwy 20 – (Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, November 18th at 10:00 am) 
  • 2010 Road Resurfacing Project List - Complete
  • Lighthouse Childcare – PIB 2010
  • Interviewing architectural firms for the new Sugar Hill City Hall. Selected Precision Planning.
  • Request for Qualification/Proposals (RFQ/P) for Construction Management.
  • Grand Opening of Gary Pirkle Park was held on March 13, 2010 at 11:00am.
  • Gary Pirkle Park includes: playground and pavilion, Community Garden, concession/restroom facility, natural grass fields, largest synthetic turf field in the southeast (over five acres), over 1.5 miles of lighted asphalt walking paths, huge pavilions, bleachers for sporting events, parking, bridges and a covered pedestrian bridge.
  • Sugar Hill Golf Club Clubhouse Renovation – completed March 2010
  • Railroad Ave and Old Suwanee Road curb/gutter and sidewalk – completed 2009
  • Hillcrest Drive curb/gutter and sidewalk – completed 2009
  • Extended 2500 ft of gas main from Westbrook Road South along Buford Hwy to Sugar Hill City Limits – complete
  • County - North Gwinnett Middle School – opened fall 2009
  • Benton House Assisted Living Facility – opened January 2010
  • 2009 City Road Program Initial Program List Complete: Church Street, Hillcrest Glenn Circle (Cul-De-Sac), Sugar Landing Circle, Sugar Meadow Lane, Oakley Court, Long Branch Circle, Old Atlanta highway, Old Suwanee Road, Railroad Avenue (From Wages Way to Old Atlanta Highway), McEver View Drive (From Crested Hawk Trail to end of street), Arbor View Way (entrance) patch only, Bankside Court (patch utility cut) patch only.
  • Upgrading gas main on Level Creek Road between Church Street and West Broad Street / Town Center Improvements in Sugar Hill. (City) September 2009

  • Resurfacing Old Suwanee Road, Railroad Ave, and Woodward Mill after completion of the 72" water reuse line. (County) June 2009
  • Reuse water line installation, natural gas lines and moving water lines – Old Suwanee Road, Railroad Ave, East Broad Street, RH Smith, Hillcrest Drive, Richland Creek, Sycamore Road to Buford Dam Road (City & County)
  • 2008 City Road Program: Anthony Dr, Appling Road, Craig Dr, Creek Lane, East Broad St, First Ave. Hessie Lane, Millard Duncan, Old Atlanta Hwy, Old Suwanee Road, Olivet Dr, Pass Ct., Railroad Ave, Second Ave, Sycamore Ridge
  • Gas pipeline at the corner of First Avenue, Lanier Avenue, and Chapel Avenue.
  • E.E. Robinson Park: Playgrounds, new mulch
