Settles Bridge Park – Gwinnett County Park
380 Johnson Road, Suwanee (4.1 Miles from Sugar Hill City Hall)
268 acres – 1.8 mile paved trail, 3.2 mile soft trail, outdoor basketball courts, a dog park area, grills, pavilions, picnic tables, playground, and a skate complex.
George Pierce Park – Gwinnett County Park
55 Buford Highway, Suwanee (4.1 Miles from Sugar Hill City Hall)
304 acres includes 2.6 mile paved trail, 1.2 mile soft surface trail, community center, picnic tables, grills, pavilions, playground and a pond. Sports include baseball, basketball, football and soccer.
New Park on PIB – Gwinnett County Park
Expected to open in 2016, this will be the athletic park that supports the Lanier Cluster. It should have many amenities similar to George Pierce Park, but does not have as much acreage.
Bogan Park – Gwinnett County Park
2723 North Bogan Road, Buford, (5.5 Miles from Sugar Hill City Hall)
83 acres, indoor aquatic center, 2 mile paved trail, 1.2 mile soft surface trail, community center, picnic tables, pavilions, playground, pond, outdoor basketball court, indoor badminton court, gym and sand volleyball court. Sports include baseball, basketball and football.
Playtown Suwanee – Suwanee Park
425 Main Street (Suwanee) next door to the Suwanee Library Branch, PlayTown Suwanee features a large wooden playground structure that is great for the little ones to climb on, in, around, and through.
Sims Lake Park – Suwanee Park
4600 Suwanee Dam Road. Sims Lake Park is comprised of 62 idyllic acres and located at Suwanee Dam and Tench roads. In addition to a 7-acre lake, Sims Lake Park features an approximately 1.2-mile looping trail, well-fed streamscape, playground area, picnic pavilion, and two 2-acre play meadows.
Suwanee Creek Greenway – Suwanee Park
The Suwanee Creek Greenway is a hard-surface, multipurpose trail that meanders through four miles of wooded areas, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. The northern most access is via George Pierce Park.
Buford Dam Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
Buford Dam Park is a fee park. It has a beach with a designated swim area, picnic tables on and near the beach, volleyball and basketball areas, a couple of playgrounds, and picnic shelters/pavilions.
Lower Overlook Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
Buford Dam Road. It has picnic tables and grills and a winter view of Buford Dam. Laurel Ridge Trail (3.8 miles) goes through Lower Overlook Park (as well as Powerhouse Park and Buford Dam Park).
Lanier Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
Budford Dam Road, Lanier Park is a lovely place to enjoy a nice summer day. It has a beach, a picnic area with picnic tables and grills, a boat ramp, etc.
Shoal Creek Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
Shadburn Ferry Road (off Buford Dam Road). It has an access point with one boat ramp. There is a campground called Shoal Creek Campground further down Shadburn Ferry Road.
West Bank Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
West Bank Park is a large, attractive, fee park with great facilities. It has lots of bathrooms, picnic tables, BBQ grills, playgrounds, picnic shelters and pavilions.
East Bank Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
East Bank Park East Bank Park is located in Buford off Buford Dam Road (close to the Dam Store). It is a fee park and is mainly used as a boat launching park. There is a boat ramp, dock, and restrooms.
Lower Pool Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
Lower Pool Park is located directly behind Buford Dam. It is a popular park with canoers and kayakers who launch onto the Chattahoochee River. Its also often visited by fishermen. Its has picnic spots, benches, large green spaces, etc.
Powerhouse Park – Corp of Engineer/Lake Lanier Park
The Laurel Ridge Trail (3.8 miles) goes through this park (as well as Buford Dam Park and Lower Overlook). For those looking to go tubing or rent kayaks, Up the River Outfitters uses the park as its drop spot. No pets are allowed.
